David "Bishop Petty" Richard is hoping to be the next star of NBC's "The Voice." Richard travelled from Orange to Chicago January 21, for auditions and is awaiting word on making the live round of competition. Richard found his passion for singing when he was a young boy and joined in his church choir. Old and young took to the streets of the town in protest of the Seneca Army Depot, believed to house nuclear weaponry and materials.

The Coopers believe their then-16-year-old son ran away, buut remain stunned that he has not contacted them nor any other family or friends in all this time. The wall of a sitting room is filled with pictures of their three boys, an empty circle standing out among them, where the senior photo of James would have been placed. James remains listed on the national registry of missing children, and a flyer showing what he is likely to look like now has been added.

Kountze graduate and Beaumont-based boxer Jemiah Richards is now the region's second national champion amateur boxer, having won the USA Boxing Elite 132-pound National Championship last Saturday. He joins the ranks of local boxing talent alongside USA's No. 1 heavyweight Cymone Kearney. Richards will show his support to area boxers by attending the amateur boxing showcase to be held this Saturday at Club Rhumba, which is Beaumont's first such events in 17 years. Deborah Ray Holst holds a photograph of her mother, Minnie Ray Sebolt, who was shot and killed by Bartholomew Granger March 14, 2012. Sebolt was one of five victims of Granger that morning, and the sole fatality. She was accompanying a friend to help her secure veterans benefits that morning when Granger, who was on trial for sexually assaulting his daughter, went after both his daughter and ex-wife, shooting each of them and hitting bystanders as they were on their way in to the Jefferson County Courthouse. Granger is currently on death row at the Allan B. Polunsky Unit of the penitentiary in Livingston. Holst read the victim's impact statement at Granger's sentencing and continues to receive updates on any changes or issues reported during his imprisonment. Hargie Faye Savoy met privately with Coretta Scott King in the bedroom of her Port Arthur home in 1986. While at a brunch at the house, Mrs. King requested the meeting to ask if Mrs. Savoy would help create a Friends of Martin Luther King, Jr., Support Group in the area to help carry on Dr. King's work for nonviolence.
